The Journal has published a lot of articles about quadcopters or “drones” recently, including this one on how to take aerial selfies (or “dronies”) and this one about how drones are revolutionizing the humble vacation photo.
I decided to see what all the fuss was about, and picked a cheap quadcopter of my own. It’s a Hubsan X4 107C HD, which comes complete with built-in HD video camera. I’m still getting to grips with the thing, which certainly isn’t easy to fly, but I figured I’d share my early results. Here it is – my first “dronie” attempt:
